My interior design process
Step 1: Initial consultation
We lay the foundations of our journey with a face to face meeting. This is all about getting to know you, discussing how you use your space, and your personal style preferences. From here I begin to understand your aspirations for your home, ensuring the design will serve you today and in the years to come.
Step 2: Conceptual design scheme
I develop & present your full design scheme. Everything from paint colours, wallpaper, textures, furniture, flooring, window dressings, accessories, hardware and more is covered here. Anything you want to keep is incorporated and any storage or functional aspects are covered.
Step 3: Technical drawings
We look at transforming the concepts from our mood board into realistic CAD mock-ups and 3D renders, helping you to visualise the space before the transformation becomes reality. I produce to scale layouts, lighting and electrical plans and bespoke joinery drawings for contractors to follow.
Step 4: Sourcing & procurement
This stage includes sourcing and sampling all key finishes and materials, such as paint colours, fabrics, tiles, and surface finishes. Where required, this may also involve visits to kitchen suppliers, showrooms, or furniture retailers to review products in person.
All sourced items are presented visually in a detailed Canva presentation, alongside a comprehensive shopping schedule outlining supplier information, costs, dimensions, materials, lead times, and warranties.
Throughout the process, careful budget management is maintained to ensure the project remains aligned with the agreed investment.
The procurement phase includes purchasing all approved items on your behalf, coordinating deliveries, and inspecting products upon arrival to ensure quality and accuracy before installation.
Step 5: Project management
I oversee the quotation process with trades, bringing in trusted professionals. I coordinate and manage the entire process from start to finish, briefing contractors, checking in daily and with regular updates to you. This stage is all about problem solving, ensuring any issues are resolved and making sure all work is delivered to an impeccable standard.
