Decorating with orange as we step into Autumn
It's maybe a bit obvious to be chatting earthy and orange as we head into the Autumn months, but I've been seeing it everywhere from my fave interiors brands this past week or two, so I just wanted to spread the rusty vibes. Maybe I'll inspire you to pick a warm earthy tone in your home this season.
Bert & May's reclaimed tile collection
Bert & May have brought out a new reclaimed tile collection of ultra cosy colour and bold patterns. I'm loving the rustic red and orangey pattern here - reclaimed majorca style tiles - https://www.bertandmay.com/collections/reclaimed-tiles/products/mojacar-reclaimed-tile
Terracottas and oranges pair beautifully with natural materials like wood, rattan, and linen, bringing warmth and texture to neutral spaces.
Green is gorgeous teamed with orange or terracotta - check out this stunning green sofa and how the accents of orange in the rug and flowers here really makes it pop.

I also love how the green sofa from Daals looks against the orange wall here.

Orangey tones can be too overly dramatic if over used and not balanced carefully. Soften bright tangerine-like tones by strategically placing them at the top and bottom of the room. For example, go with a colourful ceiling and soft, orange rug but balance this with a deep navy blue wall to contrast in between.

I'm really loving faded terracotta from Farrow & Ball's California edit right now and recently included it in a living scheme on the ceiling, alongside panelled walls in Strong white - a gorgeous off white, and a deep olive green sofa. Here's one of my moodboards for the scheme.
Are you feeling bold enough to bring some orange or terracotta into your home this year? I would love to see your room transformations if you do, so please share!
